Strong with the buzz

I set this hive up in spring of 2014, out on 12 acres near Caldwell, Tx. It has survived being moved to Burnet, Tx in the middle of a cold winter in 2018 and then finally to the top of the hill on our 17.4 acres here in Goldthwaite, Tx. Although I haven’t harvested much honey from them, they have survived for over 6 years and still producing.

Once the weather warms up and more time is available new top bar hives will be built and placed around the future orchards and vineyards. Bees will be added slowly so that there is plenty o clover and flowers for them to feed from.
